Fiberglass geogrid for asphalt reinforcement

Fiberglass geogrid, also called glass fiber geogrid or fibreglass geogrid, is a warp-knitted open grid made from E-glass yarn and coated with modified bitumen. It provides tensile reinforcement at low elongation within asphalt pavement layers.

Asphalt overlays and reflective-crack control

Applications include rehabilitation of existing asphalt roads, asphalt overlays on concrete pavement, road-widening joints and airport pavement repairs. The grid helps distribute tensile stress and delay reflection of cracks and joints into the overlay. Match the grid and layer position to the pavement design.

Standard or self-adhesive fiberglass geogrid?

The standard type is a modified-bitumen-coated grid. The self-adhesive type adds adhesive backing for positioning during installation. Both types are available in the strength grades below. Select the tack-coat system, surface preparation and overlap arrangement through the pavement design and installation method.

Fiberglass or plastic geogrid?

Use fiberglass geogrid for asphalt interlayer reinforcement. For aggregate confinement and directional soil reinforcement, compare the biaxial and uniaxial options on the plastic geogrid page.
